127 Hours

I don’t think I have walked out of a movie theater more blown away than I did when I got done watching 127 Hours. James Franco did an amazing job as Aron Ralston, the climber who cut his arm off to save his life. I had heard about this story before the movie came out so I knew what I was getting myself into. The fact that this was a true story made it that much better. The will and determination Aron used to stay alive was remarkable. At the end when he finally got rescued choked me up. When Aron cut off his arm in the movie watching everyone get squeamish was mildly amusing. (Yes, I it made me feel light headed, and my heart rate went up.)

Oscar Nominations

Best Picture – Clearly this would be nominated for best picture.

Best Actor – James Franco

Best Adapted Screenplay

Best Original Score – I love the was the sound and music was blended into the movie

Best Original Song – “If I Rise”

Best Film Editing – Loved the way this movie was shot and put together.

Clearly I gave this movie a 5/5 and if I had an Oscar vote I would most likely pick it for Best Picture.

Oscar Time

Its that time of the year again!

I've got a great head start on seeing all the movies this year. I have scene 8 of the 10 best picture nominees already.

Best picture
Black Swan
The Fighter
Inception
The Kids Are Alright
The King's Speech
127 Hours
The Social Network
Toy Story 3
True Grit
Winter's Bone

The only two I haven't scene yet are 127 Hours and The Kids Are Alright, so I can't judge them at the moment. I am disappointed that Winter's Bone made the cut I would have rather scene The Town or Shutter Island make the final cut. Right now the favorite to win this is The Social Network. However, The King's Speech could make up some ground in the next month and take it.
