Two movies are being added to my top 10 list...
Up in the Air (5 Stars)- This movie was awesome. The plot was very well written. There is so much going on in this movie. Romance, comedy, and a chance to reflect on what is going on in our economy right now with all the downsizing that is going on. George Clooney is at his best, and in my opinion, the favorite for the Best Actor Oscar. Both Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick have a shot at Supporting Actress. I had a tough time deciding were I wanted to put this on my list. For right now it is going 3rd. I wasn't sure if i wanted to put it above Avatar or not. I have decided it is a better overall movie than Avatar by a little bit. Up in the Air is my Oscar best picture winner right now. (Assuming (500) Days of Summer and District 9 are not nominees, which they are not projecting to be at this moment by critics)
Inglourious Basterds (4 Stars) - This was a super fun movie. Christoph Waltz was the best part of this movie. I loved his performance. I hope he gets a Best Supporting Actor nod. I believe he played a bigger role in the movie than Brad Pitt did. Nothing against Brad Pitt, who put on a great performance as well, but Waltz made the movie. I have never been a big fan of Quentin Tarantino movies but I did really enjoyed watching this. I am going to have to put this 10th for now.
1. (500) Days of Summer (5 Stars)
2. District 9 (5 Stars)
3. Up in the Air (5 Stars)
4. Avatar (5 Stars)
5. Transformers 2 (5 Stars)
6. Star Trek (4 Stars)
7. The Hurt Locker (4 Stars)
8. The Blind Side (4 Stars)
9. Adventureland (4 Stars)
10. Inglourious Basterds (4 stars)
I shock up the bottom half of my list. To determine where to place my four star movies I asked my self which one i would give a 5 to first. So obviously, Star Trek would get a 5 first, then The Hurt Locker, and so on.
I also watched The Hangover which I gave 4 stars. If I extended this list I would place it 11th.

Avatar
Today I watched Avatar. I will be placing it 3rd on my list of 2009 movies. I will be giving it a 5/5 and its the four movie of 2009 I have given a 5. Avatar was a visual masterpiece. The story it self was very good as well. However, the story keeps me from putting it above District 9 and (500) Days of Summer which I believe were better stories.
So Friday the 13th falls off the list....
1. (500) Days of Summer
2. District 9
3. Avatar
4. Transformers 2
5. Star Trek
6. Adventureland
7. Hurt Locker
8. The Blind Side
9. Taken
10. I Love You, Man

end of the year
So its the end of the year, and everyone is making top 10 lists for 2009 so I'm going to do my top 10 movies I've seen so far. Keep in mind i haven't seen most of the soon to be Oscar nods yet.
Top 10 2009
1. (500) Days of Summer
-Awesome movie, the way a romantic comedy should be. I'd like to watch this 500 more times before watching crap like Bride Wars, The Ugly Truth, and Shopaholic again.
2. District 9
-What an original idea. Very well done.
3. Transformers 2
-Lame plot holes...yes, over used special effects...yes, does the story make sense...kinda, but it doesn't matter. This movie was made for me to turn my brain off and enjoy. And i loved it.
4. Star Trek
-Wow, best Star Trek movie. Makes me want to be a Trekkie.
5. Adventureland
-Something about this movie i just really loved.
6. Hurt Locker
-Another great idea, scenes were really instance, edge of my seat the whole time.
7. The Blind Side
-Great real life story, mixes drama and comedy well. Sandra Bullock was great.
These last three i don't really expect to make the list after i watch, Up in the Air, Avatar, Precious, Inglourious Bastards, The Hangover.
8. Taken
-nonstop, action joy ride. Liam Neeson was awesome.
9. I Love You, Man
-Very Funny, cant help but laugh
10. Friday the 13th
-I was great to see Jason back!
