Oscar Time

Over the next week I am going to post my Oscar picks, this is who i want to win, not who i think will win. I am going to try to power through a lot of these Oscar movies as this week goes by.

Best Director
1. Avatar
2. Hurt Locker
3. Inglourious Bastards
4. Up in the Air
5. Precious

I picked Avatar because James Cameron put so much into this movie. This was his vision and he made it possible. Top grossing movie of all time!

Best Supporting Actress
1. Vera Farmiga - Up in the Air
2. Mo'Nique - Precious
3. Anna Kendrick - Up in the Air
4. Penelope Cruz - Nine
5. Maggie Gyllenhaal - Crazy Heart

I picked Vera Farmiga because she played a great roll next to George Clooney. She wont win but i am hoping for the upset!

Best Adapted Screen Play
1. District 9
2. Up in the Air
3. An Education
4. Precious
5. In the Loop

District 9 was by far the best story in a movie this year.

Best Editing
1. Hurt Locker
2. Avatar
3. Inglourious Bastards
4. District 9
5. Precious

I picked Hurt Locker over Avatar because the Hurt Locker had a much smaller budget to work with. They worked with what they had and did a spectacular job at making the movie tense and suspenseful.

Best Visual Effects
1. Avatar
2. Distrist 9
3. Star Trek

Is there really any question? Avatar is a visual masterpiece.

Best Sound
1. Inglourious Bastards
2. Avatar
3. Hurt Locker
4. Star Trek
5. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Inglourious Bastards followed together nicely.

Best Sound Editing
1. Up
2. Inglourious Bastards
3. Avatar
4. Hurt Locker
5. Star Trek

Pixar always does a great job of weaving sound into their movies.

Best Original Score
1. Fantastic Mr. Fox
2. Up
3. Avatar
4. Hurt Locker
5. Sherlock Holmes

The music of Fantastic Mr. Fox made the movie!

Thats it for now!
